Triple Jump
The triple jump is an athletics event for track and field that consists of three steps. The triple jump used to be called "hop, step and jump" because this is what the triple jump steps consisted of. Most people like the triple jump in track and field events in school and try to compete for the Olympics. The athlete runs down a runway to the designated spot where he will begin. The competition begins with a hop and he must land on the foot he hopped with. The step begins with the same foot that the hop landed on, only this time you land on the other foot. The jump begins with the foot the step landed on and you jump into a sand-filled box. If the jumper misses the starting point, misses the pit entirely or doesn't do it in the allotted time, it's considered a foul or missed jump.
