Iowa High School Athletic Association

The Iowa High School Athletic Association initiates, promotes and regulates interscholastic athletic relationships for junior high and high school students between schools in the state to promote fairly play and rivalry and good sportsmanship among the competitors, schools and communities in the State of Iowa. The IHSAA is responsible for promoting many track and field meets throughout the area.

The Iowa High School athletic association requirements for being an active member state that you must be a junior high and senior high athletic director or athletic coordinator in a school in the state of Iowa. Former active members that are no longer eligible to be members may become associate members or honorary members. There are also requirements for the student/athletes that will be participating in the IHSAA events. A few of these requirements are that in order to be in any of the IHSAA sectionals, the athlete must be a member in good standing of a school that is part of the IHSAA. The student must be under the age of 20 and the student must be in good standing in his school.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association website is a very informative site to anyone that wants to learn more about the association and what it does. It has their purpose or goal on the front page of the webpage. There is a list of any of the schools that are members. Any forms that you may need are downloadable in PDF format. No longer do you have to wait to get a form in the mail, fill it out and return it in the mail. With the PDF file, you fill it out and print and mail or email it back.

A section shows the minutes from previous IHSAA meetings, any new or old business and any news. Newsletters from previous months are also there for you to read. The webpage has a listing for any of the sports that they represent in their sectionals in different schools. Any and all rules for membership in the IHSAA are on this page in a PDF form for you to print and/or read.

When you click on each sport, you will be able to check on every division. They list the results, the time of the events, the scores and anything you would be looking for, you will find there. If you need to contact someone from the organization, they also have contact names.
