Track And Field Events
The history of track and field events goes back to before the 1800s. Through the years, a lot of the rules and regulations for track and field events have changed, but the competition level is greater each year. Track field events consist of running, throwing and jumping. Originally, when the history of track & field events first began, the term 'athletics' was meant to describe almost all track field events. Track and field events take place on a 400m track. The first Olympics, held in 776 BC, consisted of only one event-a race that was called "stade". Today, all track and field events are available at major competitions. It wasn't until 1928 that the first women were allowed to participate and compete in track and field events at the Olympics. Most athletes began their training at high school track field events. They get their first knowledge and taste of each track and field event in elementary school in physical education class, but it's just a small portion of the sport. High school track and field events are more in depth and here is where the competition really begins. At this point, the students know if track and field is something they are good at and want to continue with and possibly make a career of. This is when they learn the different track and field events. Training for track and field events is not a one-day thing, but rather months and even years of continual training. Regardless of what the individual excels in, all events for track and field require dedication, concentration and steady training. Often, an athlete will excel in more than one or two of the track and field events.
Many people take pictures of track and field events and use these pictures for training purposes. With training being so important, any little learning steps that can be used will be helpful. Often, the pictures being taken at the events turn out to be events that make history.
